Meteor Crater Museum of Astrogeology
Winslow, Arizona

At the world's best-preserved example of an impact crater, visitors can compare the weight of a meteor fragment to that of a VW Bug, and learn about the heavenly bodies in a fun, People Magazine-style presentation. Children and adults alike are challenged to think like scientists, examining aerial photographs and using a magnet to test rocks for traces of iron. Finally, connecting with the astronauts who train at the center, visitors can take an up-close look inside an actual Apollo test capsule.
