Design, fabrication, and installation of 5,000 sq. ft. of exhibits that tell of the harrowing journeys of those who emigrated to California across the Sierra Nevada Mountains and how their experiences changed the lives of others and altered the course of U.S. history. Graphic panels, full-size illustrations, and photographic murals, along with extensive diorama work and interactives, help visitors experience moments in time—seasonal migrations of the Washoe, early pioneer days, construction of the transcontinental railroad, and how the advent of the automobile reshaped the area. An interactive topographic map lets visitors explore how the area and routes have changed over time.
