Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory Press Release, Louisville, KY, January 13, 2011
Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory hit a home run in 2010, announcing that annual attendance was at an all-time high with 234,771 visitors. The previous record of 231,521 visitors was set in 2007, making 2010 just the second time the museum has eclipsed the 230,000 visitors mark.
“We are very grateful to the public for their continued support of Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory,” said Executive Director Anne Jewell. “We are committed to providing the community and out-of-town guests with an exceptionally engaging experience, great customer service, and a place for family fun,” she said.
Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory attributes the outstanding year to the recent museum renovations, along with the implementation of a strategy that provides bat production on every factory tour, every day of the week. Visitors can explore hands-on, interactive exhibits, view unique galleries and take the award-winning factory tour seven days a week. A schedule of rotating exhibitions also provides reasons for guests to return, and a number of conventions hosted in Louisville contributed to the guest count too.
Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory continues to be a strong contributor to the Metro Louisville area, luring thousands of out-of-town visitors to Louisville and generating vital tourism for the community each year. As part of the attendance record, Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory also increased its group tours by 18% in 2010.
This year the museum celebrates its 15th Anniversary and will welcome its 3,000,000th guest in the late spring or early summer. Other events in 2011 include the unveiling of a renovated and enhanced gift shop, along with an exhibition entitled Norman Rockwell: Sports which features original sports-themed artwork by the iconic and beloved illustrator.
